July 24th – Fort Benning & White Water Rafting the HOOCH!

Scouts and Leaders:

The Troop is making plans for having a great day of fun and patriotism down in Columbus, Georgia on Saturday July 24th.

Plans are to depart around 9:30am from Cokes Chapel to drive to Columbus, Georgia to arrive at Fort Benning at 11:00am for a tour of the National Infantry Museum at Fort Benning. (I am still waiting to confirm its opening) This will be a Full Scout Uniform event. The inside tour will last about 1-1/2 hours followed by lunch around 12:30. At 1:30 we will then gather outdoors for the tours of the Heritage Walk, Sons of the American Revolution, and the World War II Company Street Area.

At 3:00pm we will depart for some quick refreshments and by 4:15 arrive at White Water Express to participate in their Challenge Trip (All participants must be at least 12 and have pass the BSA Swim test) We should be finished around 7:30pm where we will depart for home; stopping for a quick meal and back at Cokes Chapel by 9:00pm.

As soon as I can confirm with Fort Benning I will update this page and have cost information to all interested.
