On May 21st – 23rd Troop 2193 will prepare Campsite Utica for upcoming summer camp in June. Our troop as a member of the Gerald I Lawhorn “Adopt a Campsite Group” will work together to make sure that this space is ready for summer camp by inspecting tents and their rain flies, sleeping areas and all mattresses, the pavilion and its surrounding drainage areas, the campfire area, the flag pole and clean all shower and restroom areas.
We will also spend some time working on the pathway from camp to the restrooms and from the campsite to the parking lot. We will collect dead tree limbs and remove any invasive plants in the area will be removed.
Plans are on Saturday by mid afternoon to finish so we can conduct our annual troop swim test and have a short free swim. All troop members are encourage to come to both help and also complete their swim tests so all can enjoy upcoming aqueduct events in the upcoming months especially our white water rafting trip in July.
