Important Scout Information During the COVID-19 Outbreak – Updated 9-10-20

The next Troop meeting will be this Thursday September 10th at Cokes Chapel Fellowship Hall at 7:00pm – 8:30pm. This is an important meeting with many upcoming event  updates and permission slips due. Remember to bring your water bottles, scoutbooks, binders, paper, pens and face masks! We will have hand sanitizer. Please keep the inside area  (Fellowship Hall) clean

Our first Troop Overnight at McIntosh Reserve in September is September 25-27 is now set and optional Banning Mills Zip Line Activity for Saturday morning. Information & permission slips have been sent out and are on the website! The Zip-line activity permission slip is due 9/10 and Overnight permission slip is due 9/17

The 2021 BSA Scout Annual Registration fee collections are about to begin on October 1st. (see Webpage)

The Covid-19 Unit Activity Guidelines and Advancement Requirement options for MBs & Ranks have been updated by BSA National on 8-31-20 and are on the next page.

New ASMs, Adult Scout Training is on hold till spring on the Council calendar! The Troop is looking into having our own IOLS training with Jim Williams in late Fall. 

Life Scouts turning 18 in the next 12 month are requested to meet with Jim McCarthy to review the BSA Covid-19, 90-Day Eagle Extension Options after your 18th birthday. If interested, special forms have been sent out and need to be completed in the next few weeks by you and your parents and is due before September 30th at council to Danny McCraine.

All Troop Merit Badge Counselors, please make sure that you are listed on the troop Scout-Book pages as a counselor and your list of merit badges you can teach is complete. If not complete please see Kristin Montequin so we can create the paper work for you to be current. Local councils are now in charge of keeping Scout-Book current and fixing problems

Scouts keep moving ahead on your rank and merit badges. Work with your counselors, our ASMs and troop scout instructors on ways to complete your advancement goals. These new Covid-19 requirement changes & opportunities will be are on the troop website and are good through September 30th.

ASM Sam Young is conducting his annual Odyssey Trip on the Chattahoochee River.  Fees & permission slips due this Thursday September 10th. Cell 404-915-5321  

Please keep your Scout monthly dues current.

If your scout has not been attending Scouts this year please let us know your plans so we can make ours. Scouting dues do not stop just because your scout is not attending; you need to contact us by phone.

Every adult & Scout registered must have an updated BSA Medical Form A&B on file. This updating does not require a doctors signature, but it does give us important medical information when needed! See Kathrine Hopkins.

 Adult leaders & Troop Merit Badge Councelors must have a current YPT certificate on file See Cheerful Long.

Do you need a Scoutmaster Conference, if so… 1st confirm that all your rank requirements are shown as completed in ScoutBook with Mrs. Kristin Montequin. Then make verbal contact with SM Mike Pollard; evenings at 678-877-7555. afterwards call Kristin Montequin evenings at 410-570-8781 to set your (BOR) Board of Review. It is important to also keep partial merit badge information updated in Scout-Book to help protect your hard work! 

Remember, this information page is to help all members of our troop to be able to receive the information you need so we all can be prepare and we are looking forward to when Scouting life returns to its new normal.
